1. Why are you using vimeo?

I am a member of the HV20/30 community, and it seems that this whole community moved to Vimeo when Vimeo went HD last year. The quality of the video, visual representation of the web pages, and helpful staff, is what attracts artistic/enthusiastic filmmakers, and Vimeo offers all that.

2. What features of vimeo are you using and how often do you use them?

I have very basic needs. But I do like the "like" system, and of course, the HD capability. I also moderate a bunch of channels/groups.

3. Why are you using these specific features?

The "like" system is better than Youtube's 5-star system because it doesn't give the opportunity to trolls to temper with it. The HD capability is also extremely important for filmmakers, more so than casual shooters.  Finally, I am not a big fan of social sites, but it's true that "channels" and "groups" help get the word out for some of the best videos."

Kingofpunk aus Paris, Frankreich:

Why are you using vimeo?

I use Vimeo because of the HD technology used to reproduce and share videos but also because of the values of the Vimeo community

What features of vimeo are you using and how often do you use them?

I think I mostly used all the features of Vimeo, but a few are used almost every day like : the LIKE features, the facebook widget, the comment system, the forum

Why are you using these specific features?

Because they are easy to use, and the result is immediately viewable by the community.

Why are you using vimeo ?
Because the communnity on Vimeo is really artistic compare to other sites like youtube.
Because the player is nice and have HD

Matthieu Foucher, ebenfalls aus Paris, Frankreich

What features of vimeo are you using and how often do you use them?

I use the "like" on vimeo a lot.
But i use most of the times the channels on vimeo.
Because i'm sure to find good stuff on vimeo channels.
I use the rss feed to be update for channels
the organisation of vimeo is different.

Why are you using these specific features?

To find some great new video, and to promote my work

David Hubert aus Montreal, Kanada:

I'm mainly using vimeo for the video quality, the HD feature is pretty impressive if you compare to youtube quality. I want people to see my stuff uncompressed, that

Michael Sirois aus Worcester, USA:

Why am I using Vimeo? I find that Vimeo is a paradox of verisimilitude relative to online video sharing, erstwhile YouTube and other clone websites are far more driven by advertisements. On Vimeo I find myself experiencing a greater sensation of both artistry and honest criticism. YouTube and other clone sites are lairs for imbecilic people, whereas on Vimeo there are other filmmakers just like me who share both their works of art as well as their honest critiques. What features of Vimeo am I using and how often do I use them? I utilize the hi-definition video streaming to allow others to observe my works in their final quality, whereas other websites butcher the quality and consequently deter others from viewing the works. I also enjoy the community and forums system and find it extremely easy to interact with other filmmakers and artists. In terms of the frequency of my use of the features I'd say that I use them every time I log onto Vimeo, which is at least six times a week. Why am I using these specific features? Why not? I am on Vimeo for a reason, and I continue to remain here for the same. I use the hi-definition video capability for the aforementioned reason, and I use the community and forums to contact and interact with other artists for reasons of criticism, observation and help among other things. Vimeo also makes these features unchallenging and painless, which thusly attracts me to utilize them. I hope that these answers help you with your poll, and good luck with your analysis."

Jurriën Boogert aus Skandinavien:

I am using vimeo because of the possibility to upload HD video's and the nice people with nice work around there. I like the professional manner of it.

I mainly use it to document my (school)work on the net en use it to show people what i make especially when I am at another place, like school. The responses from others works also nice for your karma.

Jr.canest aus Cochabamba, Bolivien:

Why are you using vimeo?

I use vimeo because i can upload videos with higher quality, the web is more friendly and because is not as famous as YouTube, it makes the web more... personal.

What features of vimeo are you using and how often do you use them?

HD videos... i don't have many videos up, but i think is the best feature.

Why are you using these specific features?

Ljudbilden aus Schweden:

"i started using vimeo due to HD qual.

Daniele Ciabattoni aus Italien:

Why are you using vimeo?

Because its well designed, high video quality and other videomaker/artists/experimentalartists/designer use it for connect eachother

What features of vimeo are you using and how often do you use them?

the share sometimes, the embed a little bit more the hd not so much but i will use it, and the flickr/facebook connection..

Why are you using these specific features?"

the share: because of the need to show my little experimental works to my friends

the embed: to post it to my website

the hd: i think its the quality part of the net and not so only the hd format its good... all the video uploaded are better then youtube compressions...

the flickr/facebook connection is an interesting automation
